door cards & such trim

wiring

2. Running Gear

Good luck! It’ll be worth it in the end.

Whereabout are you located? I suspect it’s not nearby but if it is I’m always willing to lend a hand.

California, but my goal is to move to Denver as soon as I can, but Ohio (I think) is pretty far away

Yeah I’m a couple thousand miles from either of those, but good luck still!

You’re ahead of me! I still need (for the sake of brevity), a new drivetrain, rear brakes, rear suspension, passenger side floorboard, complete bodywork, complete interior.

It can run and drive now, of course, but there’s lots left to do. The bodywork is what scares me the most.

My goal this year is to finish the rear suspension (new leafs) and get the parking brake working again, which is not functional because where the cable routes on the passenger side is rusted out. I’d love to do seats, at least, too. Next year is drivetrain.

Yeah that is quite a daunting list, but start chipping away at it and it’ll be gone sooner than you think :) plus, some careful prioritisation could see you on the road before it’s actually ‘finished’.

Required for driving:

assemble and install engine

finish brake lines

install pedal assembly

wiring

drive shaft

check rear diff

check transmission and install new t/o bearing

gas tank

new fuel lines

assembly gauges

assemble & install dash

seats

belts

paint touch up (issues from storage)

The rest can be done on a rolling resto basis :)

You forgot the wiring harness, if the seats go in it will be after the new carpet, which can only go in after the roll bar.....

Nice! I can’t wait for the Cougar to be up to your dreams of it. Maybe the Healey and the Cougar will be C&C buddies

I thought I’d put wiring :S

Seats can go in and then come out again when you’re fitting the carpet. It’s not exactly tricky with these things :)

Mind you, the above will take some discipline to actually get the things done while it’s driving. It’s easy to fall into the trap of just driving and never getting the little niggling things done to finish it, but it does get you moving a lot quicker which is a colossal boost to motivation ;)

Yeah, I would never finish it if I was driving it cause that is just who I am lol.

I have a huge boost of motivation, but no garage and the car is in storage. Hopefully I can fix that sooner rather than later

Oh I know. They have taken plenty of my money along with Victoria British, AH Spares, and Bug Eye Guy.
